Richard Boedeker was born in Prince George, B.C., where his Dad owned and operated Boedeker Construction Inc., from 1963.
" Dad tells me that my first word was screwdriver. He started taking me with him to the construction site when I was three. By the time I was five I earned all my pocket money taking nails out of lumber and Dad started my first collection of carpentry tools for me. "
During his apprenticeship, Richard worked on the construction of the Alex Fraser Bridge and took extra courses in estimating, roof framing, accounting, and building inspection. Richard stays current on new products, systems and building methods.
Richard continued working for the family business all the way through high school and upon graduation enrolled in trade school where he came first in the inter-provincial exam for his journeyman papers.
" To this day, although Dad is retired, I take advantage of his experience, and our conversations usually centre on our shared passion for construction. "
Richard has been a general contractor since 1986. His passion for construction has taken him across Canada and throughout British Columbia. He fell in love with the Comox Valley while completing a portion of his apprenticeship here and he is happy to return.
" I am committed to bringing together high quality materials, the latest in building technologies, and highly trained tradesmen to create superior homes that my Dad would be proud of. Often our projects are completed ahead of schedule."
Richard has always been an avid outdoors man. Skiing, boating, fishing, golfing, camping and quadding are his leisure passions and they are all here in the Comox Valley.
" I love the coast and I hope to retire here. "
